“Effortless transformation” PRX-T33 revolution in aesthetic industry in the US

Since its introduction, WiQo PRX-T33 has taken the US by storm. An ideal care protocol for busy women, it does not require prolonged rehabilitation and has immediate results.

I had the pleasure of practicing facial plastic surgery in the US over the last 25 years and have seen many techniques and treatments come and go. I have seen the boom of chemical peels replaced by a variety of ablative and non-ablative lasers increasing the cost and frequently bringing little benefit to our patients. Some of those treatments had some useful niches, however most of them were associated with treatment discomfort and a prolonged post-procedure recovery. The results were noticeable, however they were frequently better with more “aggressive” procedures and were associated with greater risks and complications.

What was missing was a procedure that would fill the needs of modern working women (and men) to be safe, quick, effective, long-lasting with minimal downtime. This procedure was missing until WiQo product PRX-T33 was introduced to the United States at the end of last year.

Brotox or Fillers? Yes, Men Do Injectables!

Brotox or Fillers? Yes, Men Do Injectables!

The use of neurotoxins and dermal fillers in men has been on the rise for more than 30 years, but men don’t often achieve the same results as women. To provide desired result, injectors must consider the more masculine features of men’s faces.

Since 1997, there has been more than 325% increase in the number of cosmetic procedures performed on male patients according to the American Society for Plastic Surgery. Neurotoxins and dermal fillers are among the most common. Despite the popularity boom, men sometimes experience lower levels of satisfaction. The reason, according to most sources, is that men have more muscle mass. And, treating them correctly requires a more individualized approach and experienced injector.

PRX-T33® IS A PROCEDURE OF SKIN STIMULATION, RENEWAL AND RESTORATION WITHOUT DOWN TIME

PRX-T33® IS A PROCEDURE OF SKIN STIMULATION, RENEWAL AND RESTORATION WITHOUT DOWN TIME

The PRX-T33® – No needles biorevitalizer is an innovative peel that does not affect the surface layer of the skin, and therefore does not require a long recovery period. This is one of the most innovative treatments we have seen that repairs damaged skin tissues and regenerates the skin. Bio-stimulating treatments that inject hyaluronic acid into the skin are very effective, but the PRX-T33 induces bio-stimulators without the use of injection with the benefits of a chemical peel but with no down time.

Want Full, Fluffy Brows? Here Are 5 Pro Tips

This is a repost from Vogue:

Would it be overstating things to say our eyebrows have the power to make or break our face? Skinny brows are long gone; now we like them “fluffy in the front, full at the arch, and tapering down to a nice neat point” at the ends, explains Glossier make-up artist Celia Burton, who is as au fait with a gorgeously full brow as she is that much-sought-after Glossier glow. “A full, fluffy brow for me projects a relaxed confidence and natural beauty. There’s power and strength carried in an eyebrow – just look at Frida Kahlo!” Here, Burton shares her best tips for eyebrows that are unequivocally on fleek.

Brush them up

“Before you do anything, brush your brows upwards with a clean brush or spoolie and use this time to really look at them in relation to the rest of your face,” advises Burton. Most pencil brow products, like Christian Louboutin Beauty’s Brow Definer, come with a spoolie, so use this instead of buying a separate product.

Consider your look

Ask yourself what your face needs from your brows. It could be that your arch needs to be lifted to open the face up; or, you might want to elongate the brows at the ends to better frame your eyes. “Or, you might find they’re good as they are and just need some clear brow gel to hold them in place,” Burton says. We love BBB London’s Clear Brow Gloss or Bbare Brow Bae Kit to tame particularly unruly eyebrows.

Fill in the gaps

If your brows do need some work, first fill in the gaps between hairs, “making sure to always use an upwards motion, mimicking the hair,” says Burton. An excellent new product for the job is Benefit’s Brow Microfilling Pen, which has a three-pronged tip to create hair-like lines for a natural finish. “Have a cotton bud and spoolie to hand, brushing up and out from the front of the brow, and cleaning up any unwanted product from underneath. Every so often, step back to have a look in a mirror, making sure you’re on track with the initial plan. When you build a brow slowly and mindfully, you can’t go wrong,” she says.

Deploy Boy Brow

If time is of the essence, look no further than Glossier’s cult Boy Brow eyebrow gel. “Boy Brow is great because it fills and defines the brows without any harsh or super-defined shape, so you get a natural-looking, full brow with just the one product,” says Burton. “Use the Boy Brow wand directly onto the brow, starting a third of the way in around the start of the arch, and use up most of the product on the brush in the area that needs defining the most – keep the front of the brow fluffy and not too dense in product.” She also recommends using short, upward strokes with the wand. Whatever your eyebrow colour, there’s a Boy Brow for you – the latest, Auburn, is for the redheads.

Use highlighter

To open up the eye area, look to highlighter: “You can use highlight and contouring techniques to manipulate any aspect of the face,” says Burton. “For smaller eyes, a pop of highlighter on the centre of an eyelid exaggerates the space; a highlight in the corner of the eye makes the eyes look further apart; and a pearly shimmer in the waterline opens up the eye completely. Have a play and see what works for your eye shape.”

What Do Your Hands Say About You?

What Do Your Hands Say About You?

Sometimes we forget about skin care for our hands, but our hands can tell our age. As we age, our bodies decrease production of collagen, the substance that maintains youthful elasticity and firmness to skin. With the pandemic and the increased hand washing and using alcohol-based sanitizers, our hands really need some care. Regular skin care that you would use on your face or decollete is about the same that you need to follow with your hands.

Neurotoxin 411 (Jeuveau®, Botox® and Dysport®)

I shared this article because it has some great information as you prepare for your Neurotoxin injections on Wednesday!

The bad news? Because our facial muscles are constantly in use, lines and wrinkles are inevitable. The good news? We can undo them.

What is Botulinum Toxin Type A?

According to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, Botulinum toxin type A (also known as neurotoxin) treatments are the most popular single cosmetic procedure in the U.S. today. Nerve impulses to the muscles are blocked and causes them to temporarily relax. As a result, wrinkles are reduced and your expressions soften..

What Types of Wrinkles can Botox-type Injectables Treat?

Areas of treatment include:

  • Crows feet

  • Forehead

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows ( glabellar)

  • Eye brow lift

  • Lip flip for gummy smile

  • Chin dimples

  • Masseter muscle (for TMJ, grinding and contouring the lower face)

  • DAO (depressor anguli oris) muscle - pulling the corners of the lip upward

  • Excessive sweating

What is the Difference Between Jeuveau®, Botox® and Dysport®?

At Wisdom and Youth Medical Spa, we offer Jeuveau®, Botox® and Dysport® which are popular neurotoxin cosmetic treatments that help reduce the appearance of moderate to severe lines in the face. They temporarily stop the underlying muscle activity that causes these wrinkles by blocking the neurotransmitters to the muscles. A quick 10 minute treatment is all it takes.  Onset can be as soon as 24 to 48 hours with the effects lasting as long as four months.

Each of these products contain the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin type A, and are designed to address the same types of wrinkles and other cosmetic concerns.

So how are they different?  The main distinction lies in their formulation, which influences the dosage used, how much the product spreads, and how quickly a patient might see the results. For example, Jeuveau® and Botox® are formulated with a similar accompanying protein. Dysport contains a smaller version of a similar protein. All three products are FDA approved and have been used safely and effectively for years. Which of these products is best for you will depend on your unique anatomy, your goals, and your cosmetic injector’s recommendations.

Neurotoxin Injectables Product Safety

While Jeuveau® is the newest addition, botulinum toxin type A has been used safely for aesthetic patients for nearly 30 years.. Additionally, all three products have been FDA approved, meaning they have successfully proven their safety and efficacy through large-scale clinical trials.

Why Men Are Turning to Cosmetic Procedures for a Competitive Edge in the Boardroom

Why Men Are Turning to Cosmetic Procedures for a Competitive Edge in the Boardroom

Not long ago, a successful Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur decided to make a risky new investment he’d been toying with for years. “I’d just hit 50 and sold my second company,” he recalls. “I looked at myself and thought, I have another 20 years of work in front of me, so I’m going to go do this now.”

Marc paid $25,000 for a lower face-lift and a nose job. (His name and those of the other patients who spoke to Robb Report have been changed at their request.) “One of the best investments I’ve made,” he says. Unlike other investments in Marc’s career, this one was a closely guarded secret, known only to his doctor, wife, brother—and now you.

Nine out of 10 cosmetic procedures in the US are performed on women. Yet to Marc and a growing number of high-flying men, nips, tucks and injections have become stealth weapons to deploy in a Darwinian battle for corporate survival. “I play in the high-tech and start-up world, where older individuals will be passed over,” says Marc, who also got his first Botox shots this year. “The software wars take a lot of energy and commitment. I simply aligned my outer appearance with my inner perspective.”

Remodel Your Skin with the Right Retinol

Remodel Your Skin with the Right Retinol

Retinol or Retinoid is basically a type of Vitamin A that is important for activating restorative properties in your skin cells. When dermatologists or medical specialists talk about retinol, they basically mean vitamin A that is usable by your skin. You don’t need prescription retinol to achieve results. Research shows that retinol reduces fine lines and pigmentation issues, boosts collagen production, and improves skin cell turnover, resulting in brighter smoother skin with reduced pore size. Therefore it's appropriate for treating everything from pigmentation, to cystic acne and wrinkles.

SKINBOOSTERS – ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

SKINBOOSTERS – ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

What are Skinboosters

Skinboosters are very different to those we use to plump the lips, add volume in the cheeks and smooth out deep lines on the face. Skinboosters are made from complex sugar chains also known as Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and are combined with a unique stabilisation process called NASHA® technology. The aim of a Skinbooster treatment is to restore and maintain the hydro-balance of the skin by improving elasticity and skin surface smoothness.

What Can Cats Teach us about Skincare?

What Can Cats Teach us about Skincare?

I have been a big fan of cats my whole life. I just learned some new information about cats and “point coloration” that I found so fascinating. Temperature actually changes their color beginning at birth. Point coloration in cats originated in the Siamese breeds. It is actually a form of albinism resulting from a mutation that affects tyrosinase, an enzyme involved with melanin production. This is the same melanin that is in human skin.
